The Lofts on Lafayette is to be a condominium complex of 140 units. The site is being renovated in two phases.
Phase one is near completion and includes Buildings 8, 5, and 6, total of 54 units. Building 8 contains 40 units of various sizes and layouts: studios, one- and two- bedroom units ranging from 800 to 1600 sq ft. Buildings 5 and 6 contain 14 units. These are two-bedroom, two-level townhouses, each with its own entrance. Townhouses range from 1200 to 1600 sq ft.
Phase two includes Buildings 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 and consists of predominately townhouses.
Estimated time of completion of the entire complex is late 2006.
Citibank is sponsoring the project on the end mortgages, offering competitive rates and $3,000 credit for closing costs. City of Bridgeport Tax Pilot Incentive Program locked property taxes at $1 per sq ft, capped at $1,500 for 8 years.
